BoonSoft has launched today the IT PRINT SOLUTIONS Website.

Specifically designed for printing companies and their clients, the IT Print Solution website is the presentation for our latest product - the PrintSolution admin and client website.

Using the latest .NET technologies, the client website behaves like a modern shopping cart and allows the user to pick from the available leaflets, bussiness cards and other stationary and add it with a one-click step to their cart.

The website allows the user to check out in 3 easy steps and the order is sent via email to the Website Administrator which can then operate on this purchase.

Online payments are available using the PayPal Express Checkout Module which lets shoppers go with confidence.

We also offer HTTPS setups over a SSL 3rd Layer Encryption for a more secure shopping experience.

The admin area allows easy addition of products, users, locations either via manual input, or a text-file import.

Easy to use and very intuitive, the shopping set is ideal for small-middle businesses who wish to make their products known to their customers.

iPod Tax Introduced in Canada

(04-05-2010)
Charlie Angu, New Democratic Party MP, proposed to amend the country’s Copyright Act in order to ensure that users are not criminalized for changing the format of their legally purchased music files and artists are getting money they deserve for their work. That’s when “iPod tax” resurfaced in Canada with Charlie Angus introducing proposals to amend the Copyright Act.

Actually, the Private Copying Levy, established in 1997, could be extended to such portable players as iPod. Particularly, it has been said that tax would cover any device containing embedded data storage, like hard disk or solid state, which is advertised, designed and manufactured to copy sound recordings, except for recording devices of prescribed kind. This could give users some control over legally obtained products and open up for artists a new revenue flow in our digital age.

All about the balanced copyright is that any artist has a right to get money for his work and any consumer has a right to access it. If the government is serious when declaring the intention to change the Copyright Act, then it needs to update the key parts of the Act, such as fair dealing and copying levy. The fair dealing motion, for example, would allow consumers to use copyrighted materials for a certain reason like research, study and innovation. Such use does not count as copyright infringement.

Actually, it’s time for PMs to be serious about copyright laws, which have to be updated after all these years of discussions. Charlie Angu is probably the only one understanding the reality in our downloading age, saying that blocking access and suing fans won’t ever prevent consumers from copying music. The only solution that can work out is levy.

However, some others though support the proposal, consider such iPod tax troubling, as the device definition in the texted proposal is so vague that it can also cover PCs and even smartphones.

And, what is more important in this noble experiment – this tax could cause people to buy iPods and similar devices, which are going to be covered by iPod tax, in the places where it won’t apply – specifically, outside of Canada. The money of question is being about $75 range, but nobody knows exactly.

The Canada’s Private Copyright Collective used to push a kind of such levy in 2007, but was defeated by Canadian Federal Court of Appeals.

Vodafone HTC (not so) Magic Android Smartphone’s

(01-05-2010)
Vodafone describe their exclusive HTC Magic phone as “Sleek, stylish and exclusive to Vodafone, the Magic is powered by cutting edge technology. So web essentials like Google Maps™ and Google Search™ work brilliantly. You can create shortcuts to your favourite sites and download fun games, news feeds and widgets. Then decide where everything goes - so you can get to it all easily.”

Now it also seems that our friendly hackers can get to it all so easily as well. It has been reported that Panda Security has found that the HTC Magic comes infected by malware.

This was discovered by a staff member of Panda Security who had just received her brand new HTC Magic phone. She found that when she connected the phone to her PC via the usb hub her anti-virus alerted her to three suspicious infections, detecting both an autorun.inf and autorun.exe as malicious. These turned out to be the Mariposa botnet, which loaded itself automatically to the PC when the phone was connected, the Conficker worm, and malware with a password stealer for Lineage. After checking it was found that all three infections were contained on the SD card in the phone.

At the moment this is being investigated by Vodaphone, and so far there has only been this one isolated case (in Spain), and in a statement from Vodafone

Vodafone wrote:
“Vodafone takes the security and privacy of its customers extremely seriously and launched an immediate investigation into this incident

Following extensive Quality Assurance testing on HTC Magic handsets in several of our operating companies, early indications are that this was an isolated local incident

Vodafone keeps its security processes under constant review as new threats arise and we will take all appropriate actions to safeguard our customers’ privacy.”

Even if this does turn out to be an isolated case it might plant the seed of an idea into the mind of cyber criminals to carry out something similar to this or the chip and pin machines that had malware built into them at factory’s in Pakistan in 2008

As a precaution it might be wise when receiving a new phone with a SD card or any other type of portable memory storage to scan it with an up to date antivirus program, before using it in either phone or PC.

iPad and iFlop

(02-02-2010)
So yes, there is a huge buzz about the iPad, because it's a new Apple product, it's supposed to be "revolutionary", yada yada. But if you ask me I think it's a big flop. Apple really had a chance to make something AMAZING here, and they missed out big time. The idea of a whole new type of PC--small + portable, touch screen, extremely user friendly (a serious computer using iPod/iPhone like software would be absolutely revolutionary) was good, but they didn't do it right.

So first of all, the big one: no multitasking? Seriously, this one factor alone pretty much makes the whole product useless. If you need a new main computer or portable computer then multitasking is a must; with this missing it's pretty much just a big iPod, what's the point?
And then of course, you have the problem with flash. If you want to compete with the netbook market, you need to have all of the major functions of any regular computer ><
So what's up with this eBook thing? Apple just got greedy here, trying to get their hands on too many markets with one product. If you want to make an eBook with other functions, then get a screen that doesn't strain the eyes, with lower battery usage and minimal functions. If you want to go for a full blown computer and you can't deal with the battery/screen issue, then just screw the eBooks.. make a different product. iBook anyone?
Another big one-- no standard input/output. I mean no USB? That's just ridiculous. Hooking up to another computer to charge? Also ridiculous. Instead of floating between a serious computer and a fun-to-use toy, pick one.
No webcam? Webcam is a BIG deal in today's market. Nuff said.
Not to mention the TINY storage space. Why not spring for a 128G? Even the cheapest netbooks will have 100+ these days.
Finally, this one is more of something I feel. Yes, with the whole user-friendly idea, we can forget about all of our crap. But some BASIC level of file management would be nice with a netbook competitor.

I guess I was expecting more of a serious computer with this product. Sure, they got the low price tag on it, but I would have much rathered pay a good grand or 1500 for a COMPUTER, rather than 500 for a useless toy. This could have been absolutely AMAZING. If they had just gone that extra little bit from iPod touch to computer, they would have captured the entire market. Imagine a portable, lightweight, long-lasting battery tablet computer that can standalone with webcam and optional mouse/keyboard and some basic file management when you need it. If Apple wanted this to have a serious impact on the netbook/pc market then they should have made sure that it had the standard features that any other computer with a regular OS would. So I'm REALLY upset with the iPad, I was looking forward to a whole new generation of computers, but eeeuh. Anyway just a rant haha I know I might be a bit biased ><

Discuss, and do you think this will be a success or a flop? And do you think that apple will come out with a second or third generation iPad within the next year with everything I listed? If they do I would definitely be getting one :D Imagine having a truly portable iPad as the only computer you own and all the functions you need on it! (lol @ programming apps, torrent apps [haha piracy on an apple product], etc.)

Windows 7 is The Best of Windows OS

(23-10-2009)
Ballmer, CEO of Microsoft, so proud which continues to echoing the big name of the latest of Microsoft operating system, Windows 7. Even the birth of this Windows 7 became the best from previous generations. That is which is claimed by him in various press conferences. Of course, this pride present because Ballmer feels Windows 7 is superior in its class.

Especially if we compare it with Windows Vista that have too many errors and there are so many bugs in it because the operating system is too many features, different from the Windows 7 features that are more minimalist, so much safer and more efficient use by lay users though. In addition, another reason is that Windows 7 is more energy efficient, so companies will be saves to pay the electricity bill of course, ideal when used by large companies that use so many computers.

He said that his children also like to use Windows XP that is already present before this. It is natural, but what is Windows 7 offer is security and efficiency in the use and energy efficient. Of course it is a pretty interesting offer. Moreover reportedly recently the Microsoft has introduced Microsoft Security Essentials so this adds convenience to users to continue using the Windows products.
